Kobe Bryant was yet to prove himself on 23rd of December, 2007 when he became the youngest player in NBA to reach 20,000 points after his game with against New York Knicks. Kobe once again carried his team unto a decisive victory against the Denver Nuggets, being officially announced as the league MVP on February 8, 2008.

Kobe led his team to attest their prowess in the Western Conference. Lakers paved their way through Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, and Utah Jazz where they soon reached to the finals. Playing through the finals without O'Neal gave the Lakers a taste of defeat from the Boston Celtics.

In April 2, 2010, Kobe signed another contract worth $87 million, but due to his injuries he has to elude games with his team. Yet he was to become the youngest player in NBA to reach 25,000 points surpassing Wilt Chamberlain and was the all-time leading scorer throughout the Lakers Franchise.

During the 2009-2010 season, Kobe led his team once again to the finals, finally having the sweet taste of victory by defeating the Boston Celtics. Kobe described it as the most satisfying victory throughout his career.
