The Notorious Rookie

Kobe Bryant's family returned to Philadelphia in 1991. He started his high school life in Lower Merion High School in Armdore, Philadelphia and he joined the varsity team. His excellence and skills proved him to be worth of Pennsylvania Player of the Year award on his junior year. He lead the team to state championships four times in a row which brought him offers from different colleges recruiters.
During his high school years, he averaged 31.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists. He has made a remarkable note to become the Southeastern Pennsylvania all-time highest scorer: 2,883 points! His other rewards are: Men’s National Basketball Player of the Year, Naismith High School Player of the Year, and a McDonald’s All-American.
He boasted having a SAT score of 1080, Kobe decided to continue his basketball career and joined the NBA after high school. He was drafted into Charlotte Hornets in 1996 NBA draft but was soon traded to Los Angeles Lakers where he got to be the youngest NBA starter. Kobe signed a contract with the team for three years worth $3.5 million.
